PRESENTATION DAY and ROCK CONCERT 4th JUNE 2005

AFC Cornard Dynamos has over the last two years been involved in progressive improvements to their facilities and as a result we have some of the best facilities for youth football within Essex and Suffolk .

As predicted, membership has grown and a pride and sense of ownership is now evident between our two hundred members and their parents. 

‘Presentation Night’ used to take place at the Delphi Sports Club but catering for our youngest and oldest members under one roof was always difficult and an alternative format was required. We have negotiated with the Council and now lease the pavilion and pitches at Blackhouse Lane giving us control of the grounds.

Proposals

‘Presentation Night’ will now take place on 4^th June 2005 but start at 12noon with our unique 'Nanny Jupp' competition throughout  the afternoon at Blackhouse Lane. A marquee will be erected on the grounds and will have seating so that each age group can be called to receive their trophies when they have finished their football competition.

 The atmosphere will be relaxed and typical of a family fun day with entertainment for the children, a beer tent and barbecue operating throughout the afternoon. Parents will be encouraged to treat the afternoon as a picnic. Members of the club are asked to wear their famous red & black club 'home' shirts.

Rock Concert in the Evening                                          

We plan to have a rock concert in the evening headed by The  Robbie Gladwell  Band.

 Robbie is one of the finest guitarists in the country who will be joined with some very special and famous guests on the night. Steve Laney will guest with the band on the evening. He has won international aclaim and was recently voted the greatest new talent on guitar in Europe and America.  

Logistics  

A stage will be placed in the car park and lighting and sound will be under the control of a professional concert events engineer familiar with such events. The public will be located on the football pitches controlled by AFC Cornard Dynamos. Parking for visitors will be available in the Country Park two minutes walk away.

Event marshals will be provided for parking coordination and ticket sales on the day. St Johns Ambulance will also be in attendance located next to the pavilion in Blackhouse Lane. As previously mentioned, a  beer tent and food will be available throughout the day. Entertainment for children is also available.

Additional portable toilets will be located within the same car park. The main event will start at 7.30pm and finish at 10pm so as to minimize noise and light pollution to local residents.

Suffolk Police will assist with traffic movement before and after the event and we will be requesting that Blackhouse Lane be closed at both ends at the appropriate times. This is a family concert but those artists taking part are of the highest calibre and have a fantastic following in the local area.

Conclusion

The event is being staged to raise funds for our football club.

AFC Cornard Dynamos involves itself with children in the local area and provides an important focal point that instils pride and a sense of belonging that we hope will remain with them into their adult years.

No event of this type has taken place in the Cornard area before and early consultation and thorough planning will ensure that its success is guaranteed. so as to provide a happy and safe environment on the night.

Volunteers

Race Night  13th September 2003

On Saturday night, 13th September we are holding a race night at AFC Sudbury FC Brunden Lane Sudbury. There will be a fully licienced bar and food included in the ticket price. Sponsors for races and horses throughout the area have contributed to make this a great evening. Further details will be published before the end of the month.

Golf Day

We are also organising a golf day with the possibility of a match against our old rivals Long Melford Football Club. The event will take place in the autumn. If you are interested contact Chairman Tony Ashby via our contacts page.
